I've had this installed for some months. I wasn't happy though as virtually
every day there were huge updates (from the nightly snapshot updates). Besides
being time-consuming the updates often failed due to dependency issues. I thought
I'd check back here thinking "Galileo has been out for 6 months now, surely
there's a single 'production' update site by now with infrequent, well-tested
milestone releases." But no, it looks like people are still struggling through
the crude expedient 8-step procedure that was rushed out right after the Galileo
release. Are there any plans to clean this up?

I face the same problem as Alexandra, which is not even able to install the Core package.

Error message:
Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.
Software being installed: Spring IDE Core (required) 2.2.7.200910141010-RELEASE (org.springframework.ide.eclipse.feature.feature.group 2.2.7.200910141010-RELEASE)
Software currently installed: Spring IDE – Beans Configuration Support 1.0.3 (org.springframework.ide.eclipse.beans.feature.group 1.0.3)
Only one of the following can be installed at once:
Spring IDE Beans Graph 2.2.7.200910141010-RELEASE (org.springframework.ide.eclipse.beans.ui.graph 2.2.7.200910141010-RELEASE)
Spring IDE – Beans Configuration Support Graph 1.0.0 (org.springframework.ide.eclipse.beans.ui.graph 1.0.0)
Cannot satisfy dependency:

I'm using eclipse galileo 3.5.1. is current version of Spring IDE support for eclipse 3.5.1

Ha! What a noble and elegant install!

And there I was regretting the old days of Windows where only a proper restart would mean a job well done. Anyway, joking aside – Thanks for the tools!

Reponse to pall's problem above.

I got the same issue. I resolved it by installing M2eclipse (maven plugin for Eclipse)

Try step 7 again after the above plugin install.

Incase you happen to get a similar error looking for groovy plugin then use this link :

Repeat step 7 again. I hope this time it should work !

Note: After Maven plugin install, Eclipse reported to change Eclipse Workbench JAVA Home to use JDK version,instead of JRE, as the Maven core packages require JDK packages.

I was able to upgrade upto setp7 and on setp 8 following happen
