Mark,

Is Spring Integration tied to JMS? The reason I ask is that the new AMQP messaging protocol spec (http://jira.amqp.org/confluence/display/AMQP/Advanced Message Queuing Protocol) decouples the notions of Topic and Queue (they are *not* subclasses of Destination because they are different beasts altogether - See http://www.infoq.com/news/amq#view_1067). Is there support for this model in Spring Integration? Can we use AMQP-compliant non-JMS Java libraries with Spring Integration? E.g., http://www.rabbitmq.com/java-client.html

Regards,
Ganesh Prasad

We're working on a visualization editor for EIP over at http://www.eclipse.org/stp/eid - it's early days yet, but we have plans to make the tool totally pluggable so that it can be used with any runtime.

Do you have a diagram showing how all the Integration components can hang together? It would be a very good selling piece, rather than snippets of code as introduction...
Are milestones and snapshots of the Spring Integration project available in a Maven repository somewhere?
The milestones are available in the maven repository. See this blog for details: http://blog.springsource.com/main/2007/09/18/maven-artifacts-2

Snapshots are planned to begin with the upcoming M2 release.

You can browse the maven repository as well: http://s3browse.com/explore/maven.springframework.org/milestone/org/springframework/integration/
